The Biblical Foundation of Night Watch

"And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed."

— Mark 1:35 (ESV)

Jesus Himself demonstrated the power of night watch prayer, rising while it was still dark to commune with the Father. Scripture speaks of those who "keep watch in the night" (Psalm 134:1) and reminds us that "weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning" (Psalm 30:5).

We live with unseen influences in our lives, both good and bad, and their influence is dependent on our attitude, words, actions and deeds. We use a foundation of acknowledging the power of the cross of Christ and the power of His blood to nullify, sanctify and put us in right standing with God.

It is at this point we can stand in authority and tear down the structures built to oppose us, break curses sent to divert us from our true calling, and demolish lies that lead us into deception and away from Jesus and the love of the Father.

May you feel empowered as you enter the Night Watch. Stand firm, night warrior - the battle belongs to the Lord!

Night 29: Destroying Evil Altars

Night Watch Opening

As we start the nights watch, I thank you Father for your love, and I pray to know your heart in greater measure through the love and sacrifice of Jesus. May I be effective in prayer, and learn how to wield Your word that I may grow in my spiritual life and flow with your life in every aspect of mine. Forgive me for my failures today, in my words, actions and deeds, I place the cross of Christ Jesus in front of me this night, and apply His blood to every failure. Your word said if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Tonight, we stand as warriors in Christ to destroy every evil altar that opposes our destiny. I command every altar erected against me to burn to ashes! Fire of God, consume these evil altars! Your word says our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29). I decree that every sacrifice made on these altars shall not stand! I cover myself in the blood of Jesus; I plead the blood against every demonic prayer aimed at me. Your word says that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 12:11). I dismantle and scatter every evil gathering working against my family and me; your word says whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven (Matthew 18:18). Holy Ghost fire, continue to burn these altars until nothing remains!

Victory Declaration

Lord, I thank you for the victory given to me tonight over evil altars. I stand firm in the authority of Jesus, armed with the blood that has purchased my freedom. May I continue to walk in this victory as I strengthen my prayer life.
